behind the scenes - designing the SS17 collection
The SS17collection could not be anything but inspired. While NYC was covered in snow, we spent this past January at Tajamares de la Pedrera, a little piece of paradise nested along the Uruguayan Rivera. It was not difficult to be uplifted by the natural beauty of the place. The natural earth tones and the rustic feel of our Spring collection captured the rawness of nature and the colors of the sand, wild grasses and the barks of the pines that surround the hidden pathway to the beach. The colors of the earth, the sky and the ocean also found their way into this collection.
As always, the SS17 Collection denotes the influence of minimalistic architectural forms. It could not have been otherwise, as the collection came to be at "La Hechicera," the modernist beach house that Veronica designed for the family. Based on a short story by Borges in which multiple universes intersect, the house was the perfect container for such creative endeavor. Unfailingly, it casted its spell, transporting us away from the fast pace of the modern world to a magical reality in which the light of the early morning, the sound of the wind and the smell of the earth after the rain nurtured our creativity and unleashed our sense of play.
